How to Get Lean Muscle - "I'm Too Skinny to Gain Lean Muscle" - Truth Or Myth? - Health - Fitness

This is a popular myth that many skinny men can trick themselves into believing if they find little success with gaining lean muscle. If you're confused when I said, "trick themselves into believing", allow me to explain with an analogy. If you want to be rich, but you can't break the habit of keeping your money to yourself, you won't be rich. Essentially, your subconsciously wanting to stay poor, because of your habits. It all starts in your head. Of course, you need to first see results if you want to believe that you can be rich, or in this article, get lean muscle. Of course, you first need to learn how and need to act.

If you're skinny, you're probably an ectomorph. An ectomorph is the name given to someone who has the "skinny gene". The name arose from the science of somatyping, putting someone into a general class of body groups depending on their general size by observation. It was invented by American psychologist, William Sheldon. Ectomorphs generally have smaller bones, can be quite tall, weigh less than average and find it hard to retain any sort of weight.

There are many ectomorphs who are very muscular. Tom Venuto and Vince DelMonte are key examples. Both men have been fitness models in their prime, and still are. They bucked the trends and stacked on many pounds of muscle because they learned from trial and error how to get lean muscle. It's not as easy as lifting a few weights a few times a week. Their lives were ruled by strict diets and meal times, work out routines and when they could rest. They also had to fight temptation and not go for that drink on the weekend.

The reason why skinny men don't seem to be able to get lean muscle is because they don't have much lean muscle in the first place. You can only exploit and bulk up lean muscle that's already on your frame. This means you have to get more "base" lean muscle, then work out to make that lean muscle grow. Of course, that is easier than it sounds. A lot of blood, sweat and tears and some top guidance is usually needed if you have a specific goal you want to attain with your body.

But it is doable. Anyone can learn how to get lean muscle, even skinny men. Just remember that it's all in your head.
