Social phobia is another term for social anxiety disorder, as far I have seen. The thought of going out into public or somewhere you haven't gone before can be so terrifying, you have sweats, start shaking, and this is just at the thought of going someplace new. Hopefully, this is a worst case scenario.
Sometimes, speaking with people can be hard, even for professionals. Nobody's perfect, and that goes for everyone. I mention this so that you can take into perspective to not expect perfection from yourself.
Learning to speak with others can help you be able to interact with people. A large part of social phobia is not feeling comfortable in social situations. By practicing, and placing yourself socially a little bit at a time, you can lessen the fear and discomfort of socializing.
Learning to control your thoughts when they start to worry on things excessively is the other main issue that social phobia sufferers have. Negative thoughts creep in, wiggling through cracks that have been worn in by their passages in our minds. Roll up your sleeves, its time to repair those cracks and replace the negative thoughts with positive ones.
Many people realize when they are worrying obsessively over something, but still have a hard time stopping. If you can't stop thinking the thoughts, try replacing them with something positive. Like if someone's watching you, instead of panicking and wondering if there's something in your hair, wonder if they like what they see and are just checking you out.
Reward yourself. Once you've done something that you know is going to make you nervous and the anxiety kick up, make sure you have a reward planned out. Something that you're gonna look forward to once you get whatever you need to get done is done. This can make doing what needs to be done a little easier to deal with, considering you're rewarding yourself afterward.
